In a severely under researched and ignored focus area, this project will strive to set the foundation for more sustainable groups of this nature to be set up around the country.Queer youth are at heightened risk for bullying, victimization, homelessness, and being subjected to harmful therapies and associated physical and mental health issues. These support groups will provide the space for support and acceptance along with links to information and access to needed services and assistance.Register via the survey:

These support groups will provide the space for support and acceptance along with links to information and access to needed services and assistance.Confidentiality of your responses will be maintained unless explicit permission is asked, everything else will be used for tracking overall data and understanding patterns. We know that you have to share incredibly personal information and stories with us. What and how much you want to share is absolutely up to you but we encourage you to be as open as you can. Please note that we are not requesting you for your name to ensure your anonymity. Your information is safe with us.We are currently in the process of developing an online support group programme for Queer Individuals in Sri Lanka. We appreciate your candid feedback in helping us to develop the most effective and useful programme. A separate communication will follow with details for signing up if you are interested. Calling all queer youth (ages 18-29) to join in on our focus group discussions:Our objectives are,

  1. Conduct free queer youth support groups and increase accessibility to urgent care, services and information.

  2. Gather information to advocate for more strategic policies and inclusive spaces and services for marginalized communities.

  3. Create a queer youth national plan and a taskforce to combat challenges faced through research papers.

  4. Increase overall acceptance, inclusion and awareness on queer issues in Sri Lanka.

POLICIES, REFORMS AND PROJECTS NEED TO BE MOULDED BY THE COMMUNITIES IT IS TRYING TO SERVE.TAKE A SEAT AT THE TABLE.
